ok, so I am behind on foto friday.

BUT! I have good reasons....

1. last week friday mike and I went a on road trip to Chippewa Falls so that we could photograph Ashely & Tim's wedding

and...

2. I am getting married TOMORROW! 

I can't believe that our wedding is finally here.

I feel like it has taken forever and like the past year and a half has flown by.

as I sit here writing this I think of all of the things that have led us to this point. 

words can't describe how happy and excited I am.

ok...and a little nervous...

but, that is only because I keep thinking...

what if I trip?! (because I can be a clutz sometimes)

what if I say the wrong things?! (because that would be me)

minor.

and...NO...I am NOT worried about the weather.

if it rains, let it pour.

if it thunders...there better be a dang good lightening show.

if its sunny, windy, cloudy, whatever-else-the-weather-throws-out 

(heck...even SNOW!)

I don't care.

the most important thing is that we are getting married and celebrating :D

anyway...here is a little preview from Ashely & Tim's day last weekend...Enjoy!

 the salon where the girls got their hair done was SOOO cute & vintage. love it.

 the church. umm...hello?! can I pick you up and move you around so that I can always shoot here?!

these were the flowers that were in Ashley's hair...such a cute alternative to a veil!

happy Monday! 

I hope you all had a great weekend.

I know I did!

well minus the fact that my allergies are in full swing :(

gee thanks pollen.

anyway...

This weekend was the 4-H Horse & Pony Quiz Bowl competition.

What the heck is quiz bowl you ask?!

well, the easiest way to explain it is that it is like jeporday. 

with horse questions.

for kids in grades 3-13.

I coach the begginers...which is grades 3-5.

most of the time its fun.

sometimes not so much because they get squirrel-ly and slightly crazy.

especially when its a full moon.

but I gotta say that my kiddos stepped it up and really did their best this weekend.

I had 2 teams of 4 kids.

annnddddd....one team got 3rd place and the other got reserve champion (meaning 2nd)!! 

woo!! I am SOOOO proud of them! 

they did such a great job.

so all that whining they did about reading and studying paid off ;)

anyway, this (well last week's) foto friday is of some more wedding stuff

because that is coming up too!! (12 days!! :D:D)

so before all of the quiz bowl festivities started I had a whole assembly line helping me get the favors together :D

cut the ribbon, twist the bag, tie the ribbon once, put the little card on, and tie again.

125 times.

whew.

glad that is done :)

this weekend is the first full wedding of the year :D

I have a REALLY good reason..

like...epic.

Mike came home last night :D

see...he's been gone for a week on business soooo I decided it was much more important to spend time with him...

and watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1...

than to blog :)

so its another rainy dreary day here.

I am getting impatient mother nature...I would like some nice warm days.

then the flowers will grow.

and photos will be much prettier.

anyway...this week's foto friday is of some stuff that I made for the guys and girls for my own wedding party.

These were so easy and fun to make!

p.s. -- thanks Sara for helping me make these :D:D

the flowers are for the girls' hair and the boutineers are for the guys. 

and to tie them both together, the guys will be wearing blue ties (to match the blue in the flower) and the girls will have yellow jewelery.

I can't believe how close our wedding is! crazy how fast time flies sometimes!

as I sit here listening to music, writing this blog, thinking about the pile of things to do, pondering what photo I'm going to post for foto friday, and realize that...geez it really is friday. hm. this week was crazy. certainly in a good way. but crazy busy. it seems weird to not have somewhere to go tonight. everyday this week we have had something to do or someone coming over. don't get me wrong, I like to be busy. and I like even more to cross things off the wedding to-do-list (that really seems to get longer when I cross things off). I also like being able to sit and veg. 

for a minute anyway. because my to-do list is far to long to sit still for long. 

since I got home from work today I have:

bathed the dog

cleaned the bathroom 

(because we all know that bathing a medium/large sized dog results in water...everywhere.)

cleaned off my little table

got my mod podge out

along with all of the other stuff to make these....

I am freakin' excited to make these. not just because they are cute but because it is one step closer to decorations for our new rooms (that by the way are almost all dry walled :D:D) in our addition. which is also one step closer to me buying paint and painting. these are going to make their appearance at our wedding as well. and yes...there is a reason there is only 2 letters....we will have the same initials (with the exception of our middle names) and yes the initials also coincide with the company :D 

I know, I know

I. am. a. genius.

ahhh Friday :) it has been another long and sort of dreary week. I am SOOOO ready for spring, nice weather, and THE SUN. if there is one thing about Wisconsin that I don't like its the number of gray and blah winter days. makes me want to stay in bed all day lol. but, I am pretty excited about this weekend. I have A TON planned. Saturday morning I have an engagement session with Carlie & Rory and then ALL afternoon we are putting together the invites for OUR wedding! I am so excited...I can't believe how fast May is coming! I am super excited to be getting stuff off the checklist. then on Sunday I am going to look at flowers :) 

so...I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend! I can't wait to blog about Carlie & Rory, invite making & flowers :)

Tucker buddy...aka "snow buddy" he LOVES to dig his nose into the snow....as you can see :)

this is Tippy...or "fluffy kitten" even though she is really like 14 I still call her a kitten...and it isn't very often that I even GET a photo of her :)

New Hair Cut! | Sheboygan Wedding & Portrait Photographer

today was a big day. 

a very big day. 

I got my hair cut! 

ok, so maybe its not that huge. 

but big enough because I don't get my hair cut very often. and this time I only cut a couple inches off. last time I got my hair cut [which...was like a year ago...ooopppss] I think I had like 6 or 8" come off. the time before that...it was like 16"...and the time before that...was like 20". yes. I have almost always had long hair. and yes, I can pretty much count the amount of times I have had my hair cut since high school on one hand. so, the place that I went to today is the place that we will be going to to get our hair done for my wedding. it is a super cute place. and the people are super nice. :D so excited.

well. here we are again. Sunday. but this Sunday isn't just any Sunday. it's Super Bowl Sunday. which...if you live in Wisconsin...today is a big day. even bigger considering the Packers are playing. fantastic. the last football game I watched I ended up falling asleep and waking up just in time to see the winning touchdown. fabulous. so...although I am not all that excited we will still watch "the game" and hopefully "we" will win. and "we" meaning the Packers. side note...is it just a Wisconsin thing....or does everyone who has a "team" refer to them as "we"?! lol...I'm thinkin' its a wisco thing :) 

anyway, so foto friday is once again late. oppss :( well...I do have a good reason for it being late! :D Mike and I went to a few stores on Friday to get going on our wedding registry! fun! ....not so much. well, it was kind of fun. but I'm pretty sure we get the FAIL award for registering for gifts. now, if anyone knows me...I am not the type of person that is super easy to buy for because let's face it...if I want something...I'm just gonna go buy it. that way I can get what I want, when I want, and not have to wait around. so as we are roaming about stores looking for things to scan the whole time we are both thinking...well this (insert item name here) would be cool...but...will it go with our house?! because you see we are in the middle of a HUGE remodel. I don't mean put up some new dry wall, slap on some paint, get some new furniture remodel. I am talking...let's take down the garage, put it back up, add a second story, tear off the old second story, new kitchen, living room, laundry room, bedrooms, bathrooms. yea. the whole deal-io. which is awesome. and time consuming. but awesome none-the-less. and since we are in the middle of remodeling it is REALLY hard to imagine what your future living room is going to look like. or what kind of plates you want for your kitchen table (that by-the-way is a REALLY great printer holder :) I'm just sayin'). well...in the end we ended up with about 50 items total. and we went to 2 different stores. sigh. I guess we just weren't meant to create super cool registries. 

so this week's foto friday is dedicated to our not-so-good registry making skills :) 

you know we HAD to make a Target registry :D:D love, love, love Target!

Save the Date | Wedding & Portrait Photographer

Holy moly. It. Is. December. First...how did the year pass by already?? sheesh! I feel like it should only be March. But, oh well. So...as I have mentioned before...I am getting married :D:D next May. Hold on...let me repeat. NEXT MAY. Like 5 months from now May. Like oh-my-gosh-I-only-have-five-more-months-to-finish-planning May. Now, I'm not freaking out. Well, not a lot anyway :) really we have all of the big stuff done. So that's good. AND I just finished designing our Save the Date/Christmas card :D:D so excited about these. Wanna see?!?! (ok..well, you really have no choice cause I'm gonna show ya!)

So, last week Tuesday I posted this post. All about getting to know me! Now...I am going to start conquering this list. And...I'm gonna be all cool and start with #1...What is your favorite song? 

And really...really??? How am I supposed to choose my FAVORITE. Because honestly I love music. Like love it so much that I basically have some kind of music playing. At. All. Times. But as of lately Paramore has definitely graced the top of my list of fav's. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my sister, Kelly, and I went to see them in August.

Happy Birthday... | Personal |Sheboygan Photographer

to ME!!!! :D:D:D:D

yes, that is correct. It is..well, was my birthday. Wednesday I celebrated the big 2-5. Which is supposed to be some kind of milestone right?!? Well, I am not sure what kind of milestone it is, other than the fact that I am now in the quarter-century club. haha. Oh, and my car insurance will go down....right? Well...the car insurance thing is wrong cause mine went up. *sigh* oh well. 

This was a pretty important birthday for me though because this is my LAST birthday as an Olson. Next year at this time I will be celebrating with a new last name AND with a husband :) It is really a bittersweet time for me. Although I am super excited to be marrying my best friend (in 9 short months by the way), I am a little sad to retire my current last name for my new one. 

I have decided that I want to learn to play the guitar :D (and no its not JUST because I saw the Paramore concert on Saturday...which was AMAZING!) I have wanted a guitar for a while now...so maybe I will put an acoustic guitar on my christmas list :D or just buy one. either way...I want one. haha. I just have to find the right one. So I may be taking a trip to the music store in the near future. 

As for wedding planning, things are coming along well. We have our location, photographer, dj, pastor, bridesmaid dresses, colors and most of the paper picked out and purchased. Sometimes I think it is a little crazy (and expensive) that this much planning goes into ONE DAY. Well, ok, really it will be like 3 once you include the rehearsal, wedding day, and gift opening.

Coming up soon on the blog is a fabulous engagement session that I did with an old high school friend and her fiance! :D So excited for this preview!
